Search Engine Optimization - A Culture

Search Engine Optimization is turning into a Culture whether we like it or not.

It just baffles me that people are still unaware of Search Engine Optimization, which frankly is a drag! There is one major reason why people are unaware (or stubbornly ignore it) is because they do not buy things they do not understand.

For marketing folks, SEO is a term difficult to understand. They would rather put all their money on Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns. In a nutshell, SEM and PPC are easy to understand thereby easy to buy.

But wait!

Search Engine Optimization isn't that difficult to understand. Actually, once you get the hang of it it will slowly consume you. I mean this in the most positive way.

Search Engine Optimization offers the following benefits:
1. Your website will get immense exposure
2. SEO's effectivity in marketing is easily substantiated with facts (i.e numbers)
3. Since the web is a dynamic environment, everyone has the chance to rank as number one.

If you are constantly updated with the trend of SEO, there is possibility of ranking as top and gaining immense traffic and ROI is just around the corner.

Search Engine Optimization requires hard work. No one can be an expert in the area. Its how much effort you put in learning this marketing tool can you see the fruits of your labor.

Its Takes My Endless Nights To Achieve SEO Copywriter Title

Holding a title of SEO copywriter has often made me come across with people who are curious to know how my website gets ranked in Google & other search engines? Being in this profession for long and accepting challenges to explore the search engine process in detail, I often find it hard to describe such a vast procedure in brief. I believe in perfection and offering brief information that may not cover the substantial points on a topic is against my ethics. This may be one of the reasons that I never gave unsatisfactory answer despite being asked the same question multiple times.

However, this could not quench my thirst to offer accurate & influential information to those who are seeking it. Hence, I decided to write this article and provide detailed and valuable knowledge to those who aspire to make maximum out of their website. This article is a result of all my experience and expertise out into words. In my notion, this is a valuable scripture that would work as bible for those who want to promote their site without spending their hard earned money.

I am sure that certain things, considered important for promoting a website are known to most of you. These may include link building & website content. My expert advice for now is to focus on website content. I am not denying the fact that link building is important, but to achieve that, you may either opt for paid links or can go for link exchange program. However, being a professional, I never relied on these procedures and do not recommend the readers to follow them either. Purchasing link may make your wallet lighter by many dollars, and approaching for affiliate or link exchange program may harm you in future (but not always). The procedure may harm you when a site possessing your link and your site contain link of that site, get spammed or Panelized, you will get punished for the task youve accomplished. So, you have to be extra-vigilant.

The question that still remains unanswered for many who aspire to promote their website is how to achiever links? Well, I am not surprised here. You must have many times encountered with website such as wikipedia.com, howstuffworks.com etc. These sites may be well defined as digital encyclopedia offering tons of information on any topic under the sun.

Have you ever checked their link popularity? If not I would recommend you to check it once. What I want to elucidate here is that adding lot of content on your website, that would prove to be helpful for the visitors, try to educate visitor about your products/ services will certainly prove beneficial in the site promotion.

For instance, if you are selling security devices such as stun gun, nanny camera, hidden camera etc. Online, displaying products at a good resolution & listing features are not enough to promote your site. The key is to try it differently. You must have heard the famous phrase- winners dont do different things they do things differently. This is exactly what you have to take in to consideration.

The crux is to write informative articles related to your products. Read the examples given below on the topics you need to cover if writing for a website related to selling security products.
a) Home surveillance products- Why to choose them to protect the ones you love most.
b) Why home security has become so much important these days- can Nanny Cameras put you on ease?
c) Is your home really safe- A quick watch at spy cameras.

This was just an example. I would highly recommend my readers to focus on upgrading their website content on a regular basis and include as many articles possible. If you are successful in adding useful information on your site regularly, youve won the battle. Valuable information is very important to allure regular visitors to your website. People would visit your site to enlighten them with the knowledge you are spreading and chances are that many of these visitors would add your site in their favorite list. And hey! This is just the beginning of people starting to add your link to their site.

The result is, accumulation of valuable links, without losing your money. Sounds interesting, isnt it? Remember, the target will be achieved if the articles or site-content are clear, crispy & most importantly, informative. Indulge in article that would make a visitor glued to your site for long and make him curious to visit again & again. By now, you may be wondering about the strategies to adopt for writing an article that fits well into your website & make sense for the reader to read it!

How to write an article?

I have observed that most writers concentrate on penning down what they actually want to write in their articles. This may well satisfy the creativity and purpose of the writer, but this is not the most effective and recommended way to write an article.

The key to effective article writing is to concentrate on a topic that your targeted market is already interested in. a brief research will solve your query of the kind of article your targeted market is interested in. research is what I would recommend my readers to conduct prior to selecting a topic to write about. When conducting a research, you must try to visit forums that cover your targeted market. Observe to see what they are talking about & even looking for. The foolproof formula that works is to locate a problem and write an article that would fix it up easily, effectively and permanently (if possible!).

This kind of approach would manifest your devotion as a problem-fixer. It is simple! Help people resolve their problems and strengthen your credibility, resulting in profits that will soon follow.

How many times have you been lured to read the content of a site by the title of the article? I would say, most of the times for myself. Article title is equivalent to the attractive wrapper of a gift that lures a recipient to open it eventually. Cover the gift with a shabby-looking wrapper if you want to repel the recipient. Article Title

Choosing the title of your article will be one of the most prominent decisions that you will make, towards writing an article. This would also determine whether or not it would be read by your visitors.

The best thing to do is, to take your time and challenge your brain to produce a revolutionary title. My advice would be to choose a title for your article that is
Attention grabbing
Pleasant to read
Arouses curiosity and,
Offers an idea of what you want to say, in brief

Personally, when I choose a title for an article, I write down several, compare, scribble and eliminate some of them before I settle for one. My basic idea of choosing a title is to make it as accurate and exciting as possible. This doesnt come easily, as I spend some time to get the feel of word variations, & tweak the weak areas.

Once youve selected the perfect title for your article, its time to accomplish the main task; writing down the content.

Content:

I am quite surprised to find that most articles that visitors come across on websites today are nothing but sweetened versions of sales-pitch or material that is void of the required valuable information. Hence, readers are disappointed.

The basic Mantra is to understand, the reason a visitor would spend his valuable time & energy to read a 500-word article. The reason is the thirst for education. Enlighten your reader with knowledge and you will be amazed to achieve your targeted goal/goals!

A poorly written article would repel your reader. This may put adverse effect on your credibility & on any other article/articles that you plan to publish in future. Hence, write it the right way for the first time. Try to focus on optimal keyword phrase placement, while still engaging the target audience with clear, succinct copy. I would personally advocate my readers to conduct a research on keyword search popularity.

Dont ever settle for dry, corporate-sounding jargon that doesnt engage the reader & wont strengthen your relationship with them. Try to employ phrasing that speaks powerfully to your target audience.

As a professional, I target to achieve a fresh set of META tags & a search engine submission for each article I post. I also consider it necessary to see that every article is enriched with keyword & squeeze in a few extra keywords where appropriate. This boosts up my search engine ranking & generates some very targeted traffic.

Here, I would like to make you aware that there is a fine line between what search engines consider the natural occurrence of keyword stuffing. If your document is a good read that happens to be keyword rich, you stand a much better chance at having it appear on a search engine than if is an obvious attempt at search engine trickery.

I believe in posting my articles as stand alone web pages at my own site. This becomes easy for more webmasters easy access to my articles as well as attracting more traffic through the search engines.

Write structured content for your web content/article that tells the readers what they want to know. The effort must not be to overwhelm them with loads unnecessary information, but enriching your site with informative, compelling and accurate content to drive-in potential traffic to your site & converting visitors into clients.

Provide resource information to your reader and for this, you must attempt to offer URLs of various websites where the readers can have an easy access to rich information on the subject youve explained to them. It would be productive to offer good outgoing links from your website. This will result in improving the page rank of your website.

I am freelance writer, I have written on many fields that are under the sun. I have passion to play with words. Accuracy, clarity and impact are the hallmarks of my work.

I am not a Shakespeare, and dont have ability to convert imagination and thoughts into words, If I have to define myself in a few words, I would say I am a copywriter, I have good command over research, expertise to explore extensively and ability to prove that. I can write on any subject, from beauty to intellect, food to travel, paradise to Hades, flowers to nuclear bombs, rainbow to Tsunami, pen to sword, Britney sphere to Halen Keller, Tumors to Health and fitness, celibacy to Seduction. Affiliate Article Marketing And You

Affiliate article marketing is your chance to distinguish yourself from all of the other affiliates for the same product or service.

Writing articles about the products or services you represent as an affiliate gives you the chance to create a certain amount of trust with your prospect. A well written piece that is informative provides information about your professionalism and the product you are representing.

If you do not respect your reader and give them an article that has poor grammar, spelling mistakes and NO valuable information about the product or service, you have lost ANY chance at getting the reader to either finish reading your article or clicking through for more information.

* Honest product reviews on the products you represent are always welcome.
* Videos showing how the product works are priceless, especially if they are of a REAL user and not a commercially made advertisement.
* The consumer wants to be ensured that their problems are going to be solved so itemizing the benefits of the product that are NOT listed on the product sales page or in commercials helps create credibility.

The affiliate articles you write are your chance to sell without selling.

You do this by capturing their interest with the title, building on that interest with the first paragraph, create a desire in them for more information with the body text then give them a call to action at the end where they can have the desire for more information sated.

There are going to be a LOT of other affiliates for the product you represent and not all of them do affiliate article marketing. Some may dabble at it but aren't willing to put themselves, their personality and their personal integrity into their business.

Take the time to know and understand your product before you write your first affiliate marketing article and you will be separating yourself from the herd. Be honest and find a marketing approach that differs from others and you'll be exploiting a niche within that market.

The bottom line is always respect the reader, respect yourself and be a prolific writer if you want to win the affiliate article marketing war with other affiliates in your niche.

Website Marketing Tactics - Using Targeted Keywords In Your Page Title Tags

If you are concerned with your website marketing and promotion, which you should be if you want a successful website, then you need to be aware of the importance of utilizing proper targeted keywords in your title tags for your website optimization. I'm not just talking about using keywords in your website content either; I'm talking about in the page titles too. If you optimize your web page content, your Meta keyword tags and your page titles you can see excellent results in terms of increased search engine rankings and thus can receive more high quality website visitors to your site!

When I talk about using targeted keywords in your page titles I am not talking about in your Meta keyword tags. The title tag is separate from your Meta keyword tags and just like your Meta tags is very important. If you don't know already the title tag is what you place between the

<title> and </title> portions of your website code. What you place between these title tags is what will appear in the title bar of Internet browsers when someone views your page. It is very important for your website marketing needs to utilize these tags effectively.

I say targeted keywords instead of just keywords because for best results you should try to make your keywords as targeted towards the content of your website as possible. This will help increase your search engine rankings and make your website marketing efforts worthwhile!

When the search engines rank your web page in their index (thus it will appear in their search results) they take your title tag into consideration. This is why website optimization is such a talked about an important factor for small business websites and personal website alike because effective website optimization can help a website climb to the top of search engine results. When you search for a keyword or a sentence related to your websites content and your website is already ranked in the results, the title of the listing that you will see in all of the major search engines is actually what you have placed between your title tags. As you can probably imagine this makes it important for more than just increasing your search engine rankings since it is what searchers will actually see when they look for content related to your site. By this I mean that the title of your page is what will actually get potential visitors to actually click through to visit your site.

If you have designed your website yourself then you should know that every single page of your website should be optimized if you want it to appear in the results. I highly recommend that you go through all your pages and make sure that the titles within the title tags are all keyword optimized and relevant to the content on that specific page. Targeted keyword optimization is something that you will want to do throughout the content of your pages and the main keywords are what you will want to place in your title. You will also want to learn more about Meta keyword tags because they are important too.

In choosing your title tags in your website optimization efforts you will want to try to stay away from "stop" words. These are words that aren't directly content related and connect sentences generally. I recommend you stay away from them because they are ignored by many search engines when indexing your site. Words such as "and", "or", "I", "of" and "at" are examples of stop words. Trying to use as little stop words as possible in choosing your website title will not just limit how many words get indexed by the search engines but also will give you more valuable space in your title to use content rich targeted keywords.

Unless your business name is commonly searched for in the search engines there really isn't too much of a need to place it in your title tags itself when performing your website optimization. Doing so just uses valuable space that you could utilize with targeted keywords. If somebody searches in a search engine and doesn't already know about your business then having it in your title won't make them want to click through to visit your site. It is generally only after they have been to your site and like what you offer that the average visitor will be interested in your business name itself.

If you are wanting to be at the top of the search results for your business name itself you may wish to include your business name in the title, but I suggest using keyword rich words in your title that are searched for more often. Once you have your business website or personal website keyword optimized you will want to move on with your website marketing and start driving traffic to your site. You should see your pages climb the search engine results for your chosen keywords and will begin to see more natural traffic appearing to your website on a regular basis!

Top Ten SEO Tips

There's one thing that every online business owner has in common: Every entrepreneur wants his or her Web site to rank high in the search engines, particularly Google and Yahoo, arguably the top search engines today. Getting indexed high in the search engines is certainly possible, if you know what you are doing and are willing to put in the time and effort that it takes to build a high ranking Web site.

Search Engine Optimization is perhaps the most important factor in ensuring your Web site is ranked high. Because SEO is so important, you should follow some common and effective tips, such as:

Understand SEO. Before you start trying to optimize your Web and other content for the search engines, ensure you have a solid understanding of SEO. You can learn about the intricacies of SEO by doing online research or even by finding internet marketing or SEO forums and discussion boards where entrepreneurs of all levels often discuss SEO strategies.

Engage in keyword research. Keywords are essential when it comes to the search engines. Make use of the keyword tools available to you - including Word Tracker and Overture - to choose the best keywords for your content.

Don't go overboard with keywords and keyword phrases. If you've ever conducted research online, you likely have come across Web sites and articles that are filled with keywords and keyword phrases - and not much else. Experts recommend having a keyword density of only one to three percent. If you saturate your content with keywords and keyword phrases, ultimately you're going to hurt yourself when it comes to search engine rankings.

Compelling copy sells. People want to read information packed articles, so make sure your content is always valuable, in some way, to your readers. Additionally, make it easy and enjoyable for readers to read your content by writing naturally.

Build links to your Web site. Links - both inbound and outbound - are vitally important to your SEO efforts, so set aside time to build your links by posting comments on related blogs and adding your URL to the comment; by exchanging links with other Webmasters in your niche, and by including your URL in all of the content you submit to article directories.

Create a plethora of content. Don't just write content for your Web site; also create content for article directories, blogs, and Squidoo lenses.

Spice it up. The search engines, particularly Google, do not want to see the same content posted all over the internet, so do your best to avoid using duplicate content. So, if you post an article on your Web site then submit it to article directories, make sure you change the original article by at least 30 percent (some say you should change each article as much as 70 percent) before submitting it to the article directories.

Ensure your keyword or keywords are included in your domain name. Choose an available domain name that includes your main keyword or keywords.

Create a reputation as an expert. The search engines love experts, so it's essential that you establish a reputation as an expert in your particular niche. Establishing expert status is as easy as publishing valuable content and joining in discussions on online forums and adding value to the conversations, for example.

Make the most of SEO tools. There are plenty of SEO tools available to entrepreneurs, and you may want to try some of them. Among the many SEO tools on the market are the Similar Page Checker, Search Engine Spider Simulator, Backlink Summary, and Keyword Density Checker.

Capturing Email Subscribers With Effective Methods

Getting people to subscribe to your email follow ups is a job in itself and it is quite an important one too, you need to effectively be creative and continuously find new ways of signing up new subscribers, so that they make a sizeable impact and convert to buyers or customers, here I will show you the top ways to get subscribers and the most proven methods that result in success.

One of the best ways is to have a subscriber sign up form on every page of your website, as this presents a step for anyone who may enter your site through any page that they find in the search engines or that they be directed to through the informative content they are reading on the page, you can have your layout be the same on every page so that it is noticeable on every page or you can have it as a link that directs to a sign up form, it's your choice.

Other forms of sign up are pop ups which can be quite effective if they don't appear obtrusive or annoying and they have an attention grabbing message that tells people what they are signing up for, pop ups can be formatted in certain ways so that they appear differently and at differing times, for instance you want people to visit your site and you want people to view your site first for at least five to ten seconds, so that they can gain a first impressions view of the site and then you can set the pop up to appear asking them if they would like to sign up for a newsletter or a tutorial newsletter.

Other things you can offer in your pop ups are free stuff, this will almost certainly boost your sign up rate, because people will sign up just to get the freebies, which could include a valuable report, ebook, download or anything else of value and then following your freebie you could offer to present an email tutorial on whatever the niche you are specializing in, this creates more added value to the subscriber and builds credibility for you.

Displaying your autoresponder address wherever possible is also a good way of getting your online business attracted to more sign ups and capturing further email addresses, so instead of advertising a website link why not include your autoresponder address and funnel people into your follow up sales letters on your websites, this is a sneaky way of capturing email addresses, if you don't have an autoresponder then I recommend you get one as soon as possible as they are quite possibly the best effective weapon for most of your online marketing.

Bleeding Edge Artice Marketing Secrets - Learn How To Turbocharge Your List Building

There are many different ways that you can use to build your article marketing business. However, I have found that the most important is to use it to build a list of highly targeted prospects. This will be your license to print money.

It is a known fact that very few people will buy from a sales page the very first time that they see it. If you are purchasing domain names and using these to redirect to your affiliate programs that you promote you are leaving a lot of money on the table.

Most people need to see the offer at least seven times by email before they will purchase. You may get the few that will buy immediately, but over 60 percent of people will buy after the seventh contact. So think of it this way if you are not building a list then you are losing over 60 percent of sales. Also you will not be building your own business. Every time I want to make money I send an email to my list.

I am sure that by now I must have made it clear to you that the main goal of your article marketing will be to build a list. This is the most reliable form of traffic generation and the leads convert up to 10 times better than other traffic sources. So if you can't get this to work it will be very unlikely that you will get another traffic source to work.

The way you do this is you write articles and submit them to all the major article directories. Include a link to your squeeze page in your bio.

Article Marketing Secrets To Create Web Site Traffic

Article marketing is very powerful if you know how to do it correctly. Unfortunately most people write one or two articles and do not get a stampede of traffic right away and give up. So you have to have the proper mind set to make this work. Also you need to at least write a few hundred articles to really get the benefit. If you look at the top article directories you will see that there are a handful of people who make a living from writing articles alone. They have a few hundred up to a few thousand articles. When you write an article you are not sure which one will generate the most traffic. If you write a good quality article and it gets picked up by a very popular web site you could get hundreds of visitors in one day. However, you do not know which article is going to do this for you.

Now let us look at one of most overlooked parts of article marketing. It is very essential to track and test how many clicks your author bio is getting. In your article you give by writing on a topic that you are an expert in. You take when someone clicks on your bio and you get a visitor to your web site. It is very important to have your unique selling proposition as your bio. Now I suggest you track and test different bios. Initially I was getting very low click through rates on my bio, but then I changed it and found one that gets a much higher click through rate.

You can also get stuck spending too much time submitting to different article directories. There is software that does this for you, but I found that it works best to submit to the article directories by hand. Also stick to the major article directories. Submitting to the smaller article directories will increase link popularity, but they rarely drive much traffic to your web site.

Once you master this skill you will generate the highest quality leads for free. If you do this on a consistent basis you can drive tens of thousands of visitors to your web site.

Article Marketing & Product Creation - A Match Made in Internet Heaven Just for Internet Marketers

Article marketing and product creation go together like peas and carrots. It's really a match made in internet heaven.

It's really quite simple when you stop to think about it. Most, if not all, information products are content based. Articles are great content. There you go.

My first product

One of my first products was an ebook of 26 article writing templates. I put it together got some coaching to make it even better, and launched it. It is still one of my best selling products. No matter how many I sell, I still get such a kick out of it each time.

Your first product

Ready to create your first product? OK, here we go.

Step 1 - Write a 7 tips article in your niche. Just list 7 suggestions you would give your ideal reader/client. Then write a few sentences for each tip explaining the tip.

Step 2 - Take each tip and write an article about each tip. Make sure each article is about one and a half to two pages in length..

Step 3 - Write a brief introduction and conclusion and you have now created a product with your articles. This kind of product is called a short report. You can sell your short report for between $10 and $20.

I do not want you to miss this point - you just created your first information product using your articles. To be more specific, you wrote a 7 tips article and expanded it into a short report.

Once you have done it one time, you can create products over and over again with your articles.

What's Killing Your Traffic

The winning formula for writing targeted traffic producing articles can be broken down into a few steps. Keyword research is a very intricate and important part of writing and submitting articles. It is also probably the most ignored part of writing articles. Usage of popular keywords, (words that are often used for searches on the Internet) will bring more targeted traffic to your article and/or website. As you write your article remain conscious of the keywords. Theyll definitely bring you traffic.

The length of the article is another important decision. Remember, you are not writing a book or screenplay. Your objective is to generate traffic. Many article publishers, webmasters, and bloggers find an ideal word count to be 400 800 words. Avoid writing an article of more than 800 words. The logic being, online reading concentration time, tends to be a bit less than offline. You want to keep your reader focused on content and have her finish your article.

The title of the article should be enticing. The readers have many choices online. We want her to choose your article. There are a few types of titles, well touch on two briefly today. There are problem based titles, and solution based titles. An example of a solution based title would be Five Secrets to Increasing Traffic. A title like that may have been a winner a few years ago, but its allure ability has faded over time. A problem based title would be Whats killing Your Traffic Which of the titles have more allure? Most people feel the latter title does. Remember the keywords are to be included in your title to increase your search and ranking on the Internet.

Now lets discuss the body of your article which is the content portion. It should be concise and to the point. To be most effective, it should be written from your readers perspective. In other words, readers are looking for information that meets their needs. A quality article thats to the point with rich content, will definitely find its way to avid readers. Those avid readers will generate targeted traffic to your website, which is one of our key objectives.

It is extremely important that you include your website URL in the resource box / signature box. Also include a few lines about yourself. This helps to establish you as a professional and increases your credibility. Ultimately your articles generate targeted traffic, increase your exposure and help to build your expert status.

Last but certainly not least, the most effective method of distribution is to submit your articles to article directories either manually or with an article submission company. EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com are two of the highest ranked article submission sites. Submitting your articles to many of the top ranked article submission sites will help to ensure that your articles rank well in search engines. This in turn will generate additional targeted traffic for you.

I'm looking forward to reading your articles.

Powerful Article Marketing - 6 Efficient Ways to Supercharge Your Article Marketing

Article marketing can be your strongest ally in growing your ebusiness. Without burning your pockets, it can help draw qualified traffic to your website, help you earn the trust of your potential clients by showcasing your expertise on your chosen niche, augment the number of your backlinks so you can pull up your search engine ranking, and augment your sales potential and revenue.

Here are the 6 efficient ways to supercharge your article marketing:

1. Be an expert. You need to be a great source of information so you can easily make your articles content-rich, valuable, and useful to your readers. Thus, it would really help if you can constantly keep yourself abreast with the latest issues that are affecting your target niche by reading related materials either from online or offline sources.

2. Use attention-grabbing titles. The online competition in getting online users' attention cannot be stiffer these days. As such, you need to give your articles an edge so you can easily increase their chances of being noticed, opened, and read. This can easily be done by using interesting titles that can quickly catch the attention of online users.

3. Optimize. Your articles, no matter how informative and how well they were written, will be left unread if no one can find them online. Make them search engine-friendly so they can match relevant searches by sprinkling generous amount of keywords all throughout your content.

4. Pick the best topics for your articles. To easily attract interested people on your website or people who are most likely to buy your products and services, write about topics that are highly related to your offerings, target niche, and potential clients.

5. Brainstorm, do your research, and create an outline. Once you have chosen your topics, write down all the information that you would like to include in your content. Then, check reputable resources to check the accuracy of your information and obtain more data. Lastly, create an outline by arranging all the information that you have gathered in a logical manner so your articles will sound highly organized, coherent, and well-guided.

6. Never advertise on your content. If you want to minimize the chances of your articles being rejected by publishing sites, avoid inserting blatant ads or sales pitches on your articles. Instead, focus on giving your readers what they are truly looking for - valuable information.

Business Marketing - How To Write Articles That Help Grow Your Business

Do you subscribe to internet newsletters, read books or buy the same magazine or newspaper on a regular basis?

If so, why?

Well my friends I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say the main reason for you reading something on a regular basis is because what is being said is of interest to you. Yes I know that assumption or guess is hardly rocket science but when it comes to writing your articles you have to remember that the most important thing is the content.

The actual subject of your article isn't really that important in a way as the chances are there are people out there who will be interested in what you're writing about. However if you use articles as just another way to promote your business instead of focusing on your readers then I'm afraid your articles won't be read, won't be published by many people and won't bring you results.

So if killer content is the key how do you actually make sure you do it?

Well here are 5 top tips on how to write an article that if followed will turn your thoughts, observations and words on a particular subject into article gold dust.

Top Tip Number 1 - A.I.D.A

For those of you already familiar with A.I.D.A you'll know just how important having a structure to something is (be it a letter, an advertisement, a press release or an article).

A.I.D.A being:

  • Attention
  • Interest
  • Desire
  • Action

For many articles you will only get a small opportunity to get the readers attention and make them want to read more. Therefore make sure your article begins with a catchy headline and ensure the first paragraph explains what the article is about (in many cases a problem) and how the article is going to solve the problem.

So once you get your readers attention, make sure what you're saying is interesting. How many times have you brought a book based on the cover, the title or what's written on the back only to start reading it and think BORING!

The same applies to your article writing. It is pointless promising the world and delivering next to nothing. Not only will it annoy the reader but it will also put them off your writing long term.

Also on the subject of interest make sure what you're saying is somehow different to the crowd (and believe me in the world of article writing there's a pretty big crowd). Don't worry though as they'll still be hundreds and thousands (and dare I say millions for the right articles) of people wanting to read well written articles.

Desire - what do you desire? The secret to great article writing is turning curiosity into a desire to get something. If you do that your article writing will transform your life and the lives of others. By that I mean that you have to make people really want to know what you have to say. Just imagine an article with the headline of "The secret of life finally revealed". I for one would want to know what it was (PS...I do actually know what this is so if you'd like to know please visit my website and just ask me).

Clearly your articles may not reveal such things but for many people across the World what you have to say will be important to them and they will want to know more. Examples being:

"This Years Top 10 Christmas Presents" - people will want to know what they are

"The secrets to playing better golf" - people will read it (I know I would)

"Why 8 out of 10 women prefer Chocolate to Sex" - women will probably want to know who the other 20% are and men will be checking the Top 10 Christmas Presents above to see if they should take the sexy underwear they've just brought their partners back to the shop and instead buy them a big bar of chocolate instead! (my tip on this is buy both - well, you never know!)

My point is, make people want and desire you knowledge.

Top Tip Number 2 - Share your secrets

I'm not a religious man myself but I'm sure there's a passage in the Bible somewhere about in order to receive you must at first giveth. The same is true with articles. The chances are you will be writing about something that you have some expertise in or you have a real passion for. With this in mind you shouldn't hold back with your knowledge. Instead share your knowledge and yes your trade secrets with your readers. And the good news is even if they don't agree with you; they will respect you sharing your thoughts with them.

Top Tip Number 3 - Benefits

If you're not an Information Technology expert and you have ever gone to purchase a computer you'll know what I mean here. You go into a computer shop and you're told all about the latest computer and what features it has. RAM, Hard Drive, Multiple USB's, Pentium Processors, Prompt Action Mean Drive. OK so I made the last one up but going shopping for a computer might as well be like attending a Rocket Science conference as far as many people are concerned because the sales people focus on the features and not the benefits. All I want to know can I set it up quickly and use the internet, can I write some letters and store accounts information and can I download and play the latest tunes and films. Tell me that and you might have a sale. Make me look stupid by using jargon and technical mumbo jumbo (is mumbo jumbo jargon by the way?) and I'll smile and way away.

Top Tip Number 3 is to focus on the benefits that your article gives.

If you're giving tips on how kittens can be taught to use a litter tray then focus on the benefits that your house and carpet won't smell of cat wee. If you're writing on how to get the best insurance deal then focus on you the fact that you will save time and money.

Features don't sell. Benefits do. Include benefits in your article writing, your advertising and in all your business marketing and watch your profits increase and your business grow.

Tips For Effectively Marketing Your Online Business

Assuming you have first researched and learned everything you can about your own customers and prospects then next logical step to an effective marketing campaign is to research your industry. You may think this is redundant since presumably you researched the market before getting into it. However, this time the focus should be a closer look at what the latest trends are, what the successful companies are doing and signs of new competitors.

One of the key secrets to dominating the marketplace is "knock-offs". No, not cloning your business but creating a new and unique selling prospect within your same marketplace.

Large companies do this all the time; they see a trend in the marketplace and add a product accordingly. For example: McDonald's adding deli sandwiches to their menus. In many of the most competitive markets, you will find many ads for different businesses and not be aware that some of them have the same parent companies. That's right, one or two of these companies may be responsible for four or five of these ads. They have found success within a certain niche and rather than go to the bother of learning a new niche simply find or create a new offer that is so appealing it sits alongside the other top prospects in that same niche market: new product, new website. Always keep in mind that on any search result a wide variety of tastes and desires is represented by that keyword. One website and one ad will only cater to some of them. Take a look at this same market for an alternative perspective and approach to monetizing this area.

Because the internet is an excellent resource, many online business owners overlook or neglect the value of trade shows. Attending trade shows gives you an excellent feel for where your industry is at present and where it is heading in the future. They are also an invaluable source of information that is not yet available online. The more you know about what you are offering the better your position to effectively market and profit from it.

Another key to success is diligence in keeping up with what your competitors are doing. Many business owners surf the net focusing on their industry anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour each day to do just this. Your competitors will often let you know that they are onto something new by an adjustment in their ad campaigns. Regularly checking your competitors gives you another avenue to discover changes in your industry.

Harness The Power of Membership Websites

Look through the eyes of your members and you might be surprised. You might find new ways to meet their needs. You might find new ways to offer benefit. Heck, you might even be able to anticipate there needs - there's no better money maker than that!

What do members want?

The best way to answer that question is to ask yourself. What do you want from a membership site? Take a moment and write down 10 things that you want from the membership sites that you belong to. Go ahead...we'll wait. Okay, you have your list? Let's see if it matches any of the items that we came up with.

Presumably you want:

A trusted source of information, products, and resources.

A wide variety of resources that meet your needs with multiple price points

Easy to use website

Easy to process transactions

Membership policies that make sense

Subscriptions that are worth their price

Subscriptions that are easy to renew or cancel

Updated content

Updated resources

A way, or many ways, to communicate with members and website staff

An efficient customer relations protocol

An easy way to return products

Clearly established terms of use

A website that protects your privacy - and doesn't sell your information

Communications, via email or newsletter, that are frequent enough to keep you in the loop but not so frequent that you feel hassled.

A website that is fitted specifically to meet your needs

Does that cover it? Not likely. That's just a short list of the things you probably want from a membership site that you belong to. You may also want to be able to use the site, products, and contacts that you make to generate profits. You certainly want to belong to a membership site that you can be proud of and that is recognizable - this means you'll more likely be a loyal and frequent visitor if not a frequent purchaser.

Now comes the second question...

What can you do to make your membership site meet the needs listed above, and any others that you came up with?

Many of the needs are fairly easy to fill. Customer relations can be automated. Billing, renewals, and auto responder thank you messages can be automated. Content, much of it anyway, can be outsourced. Terms of use and policies can be posted on your website and handed out in the form of a report when members subscribe. Affiliate programs and other wealth building tools can be automated. That leaves a few things: making sure that your customers know that you're an upstanding site with their best interests at heart, keeping the quality content, resources, and products up to date and quality, and tying all of their needs together into a cohesive website. Not too hard, right?

It doesn't have to be.

Use the resources that you have, such as those at MembershipMillionaire.com to make your membership site the absolute best that it can be for you and for your members.

Fundamentals of Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most effective ways to generate highly targeted traffic to your website. It's also great for accumulating one-way inbound links and improving your position on search engine result pages. In fact, considering all the various facets of the online world, article marketing might be the single best thing you can do to promote your site.

Few people follow through with article marketing over an extended period of time because it's a huge effort and it frequently just falls through the cracks. This article is designed to give you the fundamentals of article marketing in a sequence that will make the whole process a lot easier. Start at the beginning and follow along from there. It will make your efforts more productive and improve your results at the same time.

First off, don't just jump in and start typing. I know you probably have a lot to say but you'll end up shooting yourself in the foot because you'll touch on multiple topics in a single article. It's easy to do. When your typing without following a structure, your thoughts are much more fluid, getting intertwined between them and that will limit the number of articles you can write before you feel like you've run out of things to say.

Instead, write a huge outline with all the various articles you can write. Jot down their titles one after another and put 3 or 4 bullet points under each one. This will keep your thoughts structured and allow you to think of far more individual topics then you'd end up with if you just started typing. Get your outline nailed down first and only start typing after that.

Second, don't try writing big long articles. Everyone on the internet is in a hurry and they generally don't want to read a huge long article anyway. Stay within 500 to 700 words. Use the 3 or 4 bullet points in your outline as a guide. If you wrote two paragraphs on each point along with an introduction and conclusion paragraph, your article would be done.

If you want to get your articles out to the maximum number of locations, I recommend using an article distribution service like iSnare. For about $1, you can have them electronically distribute your article to literally thousands of different article directories and other online publishing locations. You'll be amazed where your articles start showing up.

Some people claim this strategy is flawed because Google punishes you for duplicate content. So, if the same article is published in two different places, Google gives less credit to each location. That's a valid argument but the time necessary to rewrite your articles is prohibitive and I personally think the net effect is positive.

When you publish articles online, you are given a Resource Box where you can write a few words about yourself and include a link back to your website. This is a great opportunity to include a call to action and encourage readers to click through to your website. It's also a great opportunity to put your link on keyword phrases you're targeting. In other words, rather than putting your link on the name of your website, put it on the anchor text you're targeting for the search engines. Google considers anchor text for inbound links so you can quickly improve your position by using this strategy.

Tactical Execution relies on article marketing for its primary online marketing strategy. During our 100-day project, I'm publishing a new article every single day and you can find them all at the website. You'll also find lots of other tools are resources there and I hope you visit.

Become a recognized expert. Optimize your website. Explode your business. Tactical Execution provides implementation strategies for immediate results. Claim your free website traffic hotsheet today!

Article Marketing Bootcamp: 5 Tips for Creating Content

The heart of any article marketing strategy is the creation of quality content. It can also be the hardest part of the process if you don't know the shortcuts and tricks of the trade. Here are a few inspirations and idea sparkers to help you build a large library of article marketing goodness.

1. It's all in the list

Top Ten lists, check lists, to-do lists - people love lists. And lists are easy to create. Just choose a topic (say, tax preparation) and an angle (mistakes people make) and get started writing down examples. Fill out each list item with a paragraph or two of advice, and then jazz it up with an attention-getting title, such as "Top 5 Mistakes People Make When Doing Their Own Taxes." Before you know it, you've got a winner.

One trick when it comes to lists is to stick with odd numbers, especially 5, 7 and 9. For some reason, the human mind seems to view odd numbers as exciting and attractive, while even numbers come across as flat or incomplete. Less than five seems skimpy, while more than 9 points is simply too much information for one article to cover - in fact, I'd stick with 5 and 7 just to be on the safe side. If you have more vital list items than that, break them up into an article series.

2. Questionable material

Another shortcut to writing an article is to pose a question in the opening paragraph, then use the remainder of the article to answer it. Maybe your friends and colleagues are always asking the same questions about your topic. If so, make a note and use them to spur article ideas. Jot down questions you get from customers, too. These are the best source for business-related Q&A articles.

Also, this is a good time to go through your website's FAQ. In many cases, the questions you have there regarding your business could each be the foundation for an individual article or even a series of articles, depending on how complicated the answer is.

3. Step by step

How-to or other instructional articles are also popular, and easy to write if you know your stuff. Make a quick outline of steps involved in the process, note any tips or hints that might save your reader time and frustration and get to writing. Just to make sure you haven't overlooked anything, ask a friend or colleague who is unfamiliar with your topic review the piece and see if your instructions are clear, complete and easy to understand.

4. Turn on the news

Keep your eye on the news, both in your subject and in general. What is going on in your field of interest? What effect will news items have on your subject? What changes are taking place in the world that will impact your topic?

Look outside the immediate scope of your topic - changes and trends in one industry, field or process can often be applied to others. This is a great opportunity for creative and innovative idea cross-pollination, and doing this will automatically brand you as a cutting-edge thinker in your field of interest.

5. Play it again, Sam

Finally, look around you and see what you can repurpose from existing content. Your blogs, ebooks, workshops and other existing IP (intellectual property) are great sources of inspiration and even directly repurposed content for articles. I'll talk more about this process in Article Marketing Bootcamp: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Your Content, but the core of the issue is this - why create your article content from scratch when the chances are good that you have enough material laying around you right now to get a great head start with just a little cutting, pasting and editing?

One of the hardest questions for writers to answer is also the most common - where do you get your ideas? Hopefully this article will help give you the inspiration you need to begin creating your own stock of article marketing content. Of course, there are as many ways to come up with content ideas as there are writers, and no doubt you'll stumble upon a few of your own as you gain experience. But these examples should provide you with enough to get you started on the road to successful article marketing.
